Proposal for a Diaspora Society of Estonian Scientists in the UK.

Estonian Scientist Diaspora Society
My name is Mira, and I am a senior scientist. My friend Kadri, who is a postdoctoral researcher, and I would like to set up a UK-wide society for Estonian scientists in the UK. I hope that you can help us.
I want to attempt to build a society for Estonian scientists, researchers and students living in the UK. I got some advice from societies built by scientists from various European countries. This December I started to look for people who are interested in joining such a society or helping to build it. Currently, I aim to find 10-20 people and then set up the first online meeting to discuss how to build a successful society.
The goals for this Estonian Scientist Diaspora will be to:
- bring together scientists, researchers, and students
- provide a platform for networking
- promote collaborations and knowledge sharing between Estonia and the UK
- facilitate joint research projects and partnerships between institutions
- support research mobility by providing resources, mentorship, and advice
- help scientists navigate the challenges of living and working in the UK
- create a sense of belonging and support
- advise R&D+i system in Estonia
- showcase excellence in research and influence science and education policies
